About ipsum

ipsum is an LLM-native way for YC Startup School attendees in Paris and San Francisco to find each other, co-work, and build together. Prompt your way to the right people — co-founders, collaborators, study partners, or friends in your cohort.

Who built this

ipsum was built by Boris Kantor as a side project for the Startup School community. The goal is simple: make it easier to discover the people around you who are working on interesting things, without endless scrolling through static directories.

Why it exists

Startup School brings together builders across cities and time zones, but finding the right people to talk to is still hard. ipsum uses conversational search and rich profiles so you can describe who you're looking for in plain language — technical co-founder in SF, someone building in climate, a designer in Paris — and get matched with real people in the community.

Built for Startup School

ipsum is designed for YC Startup School attendees, especially the Paris and San Francisco cohorts. Your profile captures what you're building, what you're looking for, and where you're based so others can find you too.

Not affiliated with Y Combinator

ipsum is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by Y Combinator or YC Startup School. “Y Combinator”, “YC”, and “Startup School” are trademarks of Y Combinator.

Inspired by Sage / Buildspace

ipsum was inspired by Sage, the community tool from Buildspace that helped builders find each other. Sage has been unavailable for more than a year. ipsum is not a replacement, successor, or official continuation of that project — just a new tool built independently for a different community, with a similar spirit of helping makers connect.
